Art Club & Arts Award
At Rural Arts over the course of over three years, I managed a weekly art club for young people between the ages of 5-18. The club supports any young person to enjoy the arts, it helps them connect with and take part in the wider arts world whilst developing creativity, communication and leadership skills. I am responsible for devising a programme of workshops for the club which teaches techniques in a wide range of visual art mediums. Aswell as producing artwork, the young people learn about new artists, art movements and often work towards hosting their own exhibitions and events. I manage a team of young volunteers and freelance arts practitioners who support me deliver the term time art club.
The Arts Award is embedded into the framework of the art club, which helps the young people develop a personal interest and ambition in the arts. I mentor the young people through all levels of their arts award's including the Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold. All which are certidied qualifications on the QCF and supported by Arts Council England.

These projects have taken me to over 15 schools across North Yorkshire where I have created murals, books, masks, ceramic and sculptural artworks in collaboration with the students.
